I road race a BMW e46 M3 with NASA AZ. My M3 is modified and benefits from running higher octane fuel. The challenge is that the fuel available at the pumps in AZ is limited to 91 octanes. To reach higher octane levels, I mix expensive high-octane race fuel with pump gas. When looking for an alternative to expensive race gas, Ramjet’s Speed Shop provided me with a can of Race Fuel Concentrate. I followed the mixing directions supplied with the can to make my race gas using 91 octane pump gas.
To test, I used the Race Gas Concentrate mixed with 91 octane pump gas and compared it to the expensive race fuel blended with 91 octane pump gas during a NASA AZ event at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. This was a great place to test as Chuckwalla has several long straights. Mapping my data from my Race Gas Concentrate laps compared to the expensive race fuel mixture laps, the speeds at the end of the long straights were identical. The car ran great on the less expensive Race Gas Concentrate mixture.
